5 Easy Ravioli Sauces

  • This year we've been seeking lots of comfort food, aka lots of ravioli. And when you're craving plant-based comfort food, you're probably not in the mood to spend hours in the kitchen.
  • So we've whipped up 5 easy sauces so you can take your plant-based ravioli game to the next level. From savory pesto sauces to creamy fig balsamic dressings, we've prepared a wide range of sauces for you to enjoy with our plant-based meat and seafood raviolis.

5-Minute Pesto

Servings: 4-5
Prep time: 5 minutes


  • -2 cups fresh basil leaves
  • -3 tbsp pine nuts
  • -2 garlic cloves
  • -1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • -2 tbsp vegan parmesan or nutritional yeast
  • -1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil


  1. In a food processor, add fresh basil leaves, pine nuts, garlic, lemon juice, and vegan parmesan cheese or nutritional yeast.
  2. Chop until mixture reaches a fine paste.
  3. Slowly stream in extra virgin olive oil until desired consistency is reached.
  4. Toss Prime Roots Plant-Based Ravioli in pesto sauce for a quick and delicious meal!

Butter Sage Ravioli Sauce

Servings: 1-2
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 5 minutes


  • -4 tbsp vegan butter
  • -1 garlic clove, minced
  • -6 fresh sage leaves


  1. Melt vegan butter in a medium pan.
  2. Once butter begins to bubble, add minced garlic. Stir for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  3. Add fresh sage leaves.
  4. Once sauce begins to brown, remove from heat. Add cooked Prime Roots ravioli and toss. Enjoy!

Fig Balsamic Dressing

Servings: 4-5
Prep time: 30 minutes
Cook time: 5 minutes


  • 5 dried Turkish figs
  • 1 cup of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup of balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp za'atar
  • 1 shallot, finely minced
  • 1 tsp sea salt


  1. Soak dried figs in a small bowl of water for 30 minutes. Reserve the soaking water.
  2. Blend together figs, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, za'atar, and salt. Slowly add 1/4 cup of hot water, or until desired consistency. Stir in shallots. Store in the fridge for up to 1 week.

Cashew-Miso Dressing

Servings: 4-5
Prep time: 30 minutes
Cook time: 5 minutes


  • -1 cup raw cashews, soaked in boiling hot water for at least 30 minutes
  • -1 tbsp chickpea or white miso
  • -3/4 to 1 cup of filtered water
  • -pinch of sea salt
  • -squeeze of lemon juice


  1. Soak raw cashews in boiling hot water for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Blend raw cashews, chickpea miso, and filtered water until smooth. Add lemon juice and salt to taste. Store in fridge for up to 5 days.

Zesty Tahini Dressing

Servings: 3-4
Prep time: 5 minutes


  • -1/2 cup tahini paste
  • -1/4 cup hot water
  • -1/2 tbsp lemon juice
  • -pinch of salt


1. Whisk together tahini, hot water, lemon juice, and salt until desired consistency. Store in fridge for up to 1 week.
