We're confident that bacon goes with pretty much anything! That's why we decided to combine the citrusy sweetness of nectarines with our Plant-Based Super Protein Bacon! Cut through that sweet and salty craving with two superfood immune boosting ingredients that are yummy for you and the planet!
Soak toothpicks for at least 30 minutes in a bowl of cold water.
In a small pot, whisk balsamic vinegar and coconut sugar and bring to a boil. Simmer on medium heat for 15-30 minutes until thickened. The time varies greatly depending on the quality of the vinegar (cheaper vinegar = longer time). Glaze should be able to coat the back of a spoon. It will continue to thicken as it cools. Set aside.
Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Once fully heated, lightly brush with an oil with a high smoke point, such as refined coconut oil.
Wrap bacon strips around nectarines and secure with toothpicks.
Grill bacon wrapped nectarines for a few minutes on each side. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and fresh basil.
